Cromwell’s Head is a commonplace blog of reflections on the variety of answers to life’s persistent questions of who, what, why, when, where, and how. I am a retired professor of rhetoric, argumentation and debate, and interpersonal and small group communication, courses, among others, that I taught for 50 years either as a full-time or part-time instructor at institutions such as Ohio State, the University of Wisconsin Madison and Superior, the University of California-Davis, and Madison College in Madison, Wisconsin. I also practiced law for thirty years, primarily as a criminal defense attorney. For about five years, in the 1990s, I also owned a radio station. Now in retirement I fritter, lollygag, and putter.
